Entry-level oracle database administrators often write new code for databases, troubleshoot problems, and occasionally travel to other offices. Most entry-level oracle database administrators work for large companies under the supervision of more experienced DBAs, but small companies sometimes hire entry-level administrators as their sole support staff. • Provision, configure, and maintain Windows Server virtual machines across on-premises hypervisors and Azure (Azure VMs, VNet peering, Network Security Groups, Azure Storage, and Azure Backup).
    • Manage multi-node Alteryx Server architecture components: Controller, Worker Nodes, Gallery (UI), and the underlying MongoDB persistence layer (embedded or Azure-hosted).
    • Implement auto-scaling strategies and right-size Azure compute/storage to balance performance with cloud infrastructure costs.
  • Platform Operations & Workload Optimization:
    • Configure worker node assignments, execution queues, and scheduling parameters to ensure balanced workload distribution across peak operational windows.
    • Administer the Alteryx Gallery: manage Studios, Collections, user licensing (Artisans, Members, Curators), and enterprise access policies.
    • Maintain database connectivity across hybrid environments by installing, standardizing, and troubleshooting 64-bit ODBC/OLEDB drivers (Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, Databricks).
  • Security, Identity & Compliance:
    • Configure and maintain enterprise authentication via Azure Active Directory / Entra ID, SAML/SSO, and Active Directory Domain Services.
    • Enforce role-based access controls (RBAC), secure storage of workflow credentials, and isolated sandbox execution environments.
    • Manage SSL/TLS certificates for Gallery endpoints and encrypted database connections.
  • Maintenance, Automation & Disaster Recovery:
    • Automate administrative maintenance routines, service health checks, and log archiving using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python.
    • Plan and execute platform upgrades, security patching, and environment migrations (Dev / Test / Prod) while ensuring version compatibility with client tools (Alteryx Designer).
    • Maintain disaster recovery procedures, high-availability setups, and scheduled backups of MongoDB application databases.

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Systems & Cloud Engineering:
    • Strong proficiency in Windows Server administration (2019/2022), Active Directory/Entra ID, IIS, DNS, and networking fundamentals (firewalls, routing, port configuration).
    • Hands-on experience administering compute, storage, and networking resources in Microsoft Azure (VMs, NSGs, RBAC, Key Vault, Storage Accounts).
  • Application & Platform Administration:
    • Prior experience administering Alteryx Server OR transferable enterprise platform hosting experience (e.g., Tableau Server, Power BI Gateway, Qlik, SAS, or similar distributed data/analytics platforms).
    • Familiarity with MongoDB maintenance (backups, restores, indexing, storage management).
  • Connectivity & Scripting:
    • Solid understanding of enterprise database connectivity (ODBC drivers, Kerberos/NTLM authentication, connection string management).
    • Proficient in scripting for system automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or REST APIs).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Alteryx Server Administrator certification or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104).
  • Experience with CI/CD deployment pipelines or infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates).
