Job description

Position: Lease Operator

Location: Wheeling, WV / Ohio Valley Area
Schedule: 7 on / 7 off - Day Shift (84-hour rotation)
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour (based on experience)


Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lease Operator to support oil and gas production operations in the Wheeling area. The ideal candidate will have prior field experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety and operational efficiency.


This position is responsible for daily well surveillance, production optimization, basic maintenance, and accurate reporting of field data.


Key Responsibilities

Perform daily operational checks of assigned wells and production facilities
Monitor, optimize, and maintain oil and gas production systems
Conduct production tests using established procedures
Perform minor repairs on surface production and injection equipment
Operate production and injection equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain compressors, separators, gas lift systems, dehydration units, VRUs, GPUs, and burners
Collect, record, and report daily production data including gas/liquid volumes, well pressures, and chemical usage
Perform regulatory and compliance inspections as required
Utilize SCADA systems and other computer-based monitoring/trending software
Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times
Maintain clean, organized, and safe field locations


Requirements

2+ years of oil and gas production / lease operator experience strongly preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude required
Experience with gas compression and dehydration systems preferred
Familiarity with SCADA or similar monitoring systems
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry, reporting)
Ability to work independently on night shift
Must be reliable and safety-focused
Clean driving record required (MUST be insurable)
