Job Summary

As an Entry-Level Data Center Cable Technician, you will support the installation of structured cabling systems and network infrastructure inside and outside of a large data center environment. You will work under the direction of experienced technicians while learning industry-standard installation practices.

This role is ideal for candidates with construction, electrical, telecommunications, low-voltage, maintenance, warehouse, military, or mechanically inclined backgrounds.


Schedule

Current Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • 6:45 AM to 3:45 PM

Please Note:

  • Schedule may transition to 10-hour shifts based on project demands.
  • Overtime opportunities may be available.

Paid Training Opportunity

Candidates selected from the Temple area (within approximately a 40-mile radius) must be willing to travel to an active project site in Ohio or Iowa for initial training.

Travel Details:
  • Training assignment expected to last approximately 3-6 weeks
  • $50/day per diem provided
  • Valuable hands-on experience before returning to the local project

Responsibilities

As a Cable Technician I, you will:

  • Pull and route CAT6 and other low-voltage cabling
  • Assist experienced technicians with installation activities
  • Transport, organize, and stage materials
  • Install cable tray, wireway, and supporting infrastructure
  • Mount and install:
    • Equipment racks
    • Patch panels
    • Backboards
    • Network hardware
  • Assist with telecommunications closet build-outs
  • Install grounding systems for equipment and racks
  • Terminate cables and complete punch-down connections
  • Install and support fiber optic infrastructure
  • Assist with conduit installations and wire pulls
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely
  • Follow safety procedures and job site requirements
  • Climb ladders and work in varying construction environments
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
