Job description

Job Summary:
Cisco is a leading company in data and infrastructure solutions, and they are seeking a Network Systems Engineer I to join their Platform Control Center team. This role involves analyzing system alerts, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring service continuity while providing excellent customer service to internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze incoming system alerts to identify potential outages and initiate rapid remediation protocols to ensure service continuity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues to minimize downtime and maintain high performance across the collaboration ecosystem.
• Coordinate change execution tasks to ensure system stability and security across global platforms.
• Identify recurring technical patterns to develop repeatable playbook processes that improve overall incident resolution speed.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to provide world-class customer service while taking full ownership of tickets from initial report through final resolution.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Completion within the past 3 years, or current enrollment with expected completion within 12 months, of a certification or relevant degree program (e.g., Associates, Apprenticeship, Boot Camp, or Certification in a specialized program + 1 year of relevant experience, High School Diploma + 2 years of relevant experience) or Bachelors + 0 years of relevant experience. Relevant fields include: Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Networking, Cybersecurity, or Engineering-related programs
• Able to legally live and work in the country for which you're applying, without visa support or sponsorship.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge of networking fundamentals.
Preferred:
• Possession of or active pursuit of CCNA certification.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco collaboration platforms including Webex, CUCM, and Unity Connection.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or cloud-based platforms.
• Proficiency in using ticketing or monitoring platforms like ServiceNow.
• Experience with scripting or automation tools (Python, Bash) and the use of AI-assisted development tools.
