Description
Who we are: Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest physician-owned radiology practices in the country. Our growing practice includes 175 radiologists, 30 advanced practice providers, and more than 175 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. We value diversity on our team and promote a culture of inclusion. We provide services to more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan. ARS is the exclusive radiology provider to West Michigan's largest Level I trauma center and research hospital, Corewell Health.
What we are looking for: We are looking for a Network Security Engineer to design, implement, manage and maintain the company IT infrastructure.
This position is performed remotely with required onsite attendance approximately 1-2 times a month. Employees are responsible for all costs associated with traveling to and from the onsite location, including lodging and other related expenses.
Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain assigned network security systems with a focus on uptime and performance in a mission critical environment.
  • Receive technical direction from the Network Security Engineer II.
  • Interact with and support other teams and business units from a network security standpoint.
  • Ensure proper testing is performed during deployment.
  • Research and evaluate new technology and approaches, make recommendations to management.
  • Create and clarify technical requirements, system documentation, training materials, and change management documentation.
  • Manage SNMP based monitoring solution (Zabbix experience is preferred), NetBrain, Rancid, and other network tools.
  • Work with customer hospital IT staff to implement and support network solutions.
  • Monitor systems and Infrastructure and analyze system trends such as bandwidth usage.
  • Deploy and support network solutions in customer hospital data centers.
  • Serve as a liaison across the organization to investigate and resolve technology problems.
  • Respond to 24-hour calls for emergency technical assistance, per on-call rotation schedule.
  • Work with users to resolve issues that have been escalated within the Security and Infrastructure Teams.
  • Advise management on in-house and industry technology trends.
  • Contract with, and supervise outside specialists and consultants.
  • Remain current on job-specific knowledge and trends through training, conferences, and seminars.
  • Document systems and applications.
  • Coordinate systems and technology implementation plans with staff and outside vendors.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements
  • Skilled at managing network security solutions such as firewalls, VPN, and east-west segmentation technologies.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting network security solutions.
  • Knowledgeable in highly available and redundant network solutions using multiple carriers, circuits, and data centers.
  • Knowledgeable in Remote Site, End user and datacenter switching and routing environments (Cisco IOS, NX-OS).
  • Knowledgeable in end user and data center backend wireless infrastructure.
  • Knowledgeable in physical cabling management, both copper and fiber as needed.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Skilled at network design, implementation, and management.
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication.
  • Able to secure network solutions designed to protect sensitive data.
  • Able to manage VPN solutions including troubleshooting end user VPN issues and SD-WAN.
  • Able to solve problems.
  • Provide excellent customer service to end users with varying degrees of technical knowledge.
