Job Description:
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Assist Foreman and skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties under close supervision. Usually an entry level position as the first step to learn a skill.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Digging, spreading and leveling dirt, sand and gravel using a pick, shovel or rake.
  • Lift, carry and hold construction materials, tools and supplies.
  • Clean tools, equipment, materials and work area.
  • Mix, pour and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel and other materials using hand tools.
  • Join, wrap and seal sections of pipe.
  • Perform a variety of routine non-machine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavations, placing pipe sections in trench and assembling sections of pipe.
  • Perform a variety of machine tasks such as tapping soil, jack hammering and assisting in the fusing of pipe.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Must be able to drive

This position involves work at and around the Jacksonville airport. As such, the candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check for security clearance. Additionally, a clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is essential.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A valid driver's License
