We're hiringย Mechanical Design Engineers to design and develop test systems, mechanical assemblies, and hardware fixtures supporting advanced aerospace and defense programs. In this role, you'll use Creo (Pro/E) and other CAD tools to create designs used in environmental testing (vibration, thermal, RF, and electro-mechanical systems).
You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to take designs from concept through integration, validation, and production support, making this a great opportunity for engineers early in their careers who want hands-on experience with real hardware and complex systems.
Location: Tucson. AZ (relocation assistance provided)
Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required; Secret clearance (active or obtainable). Strong preference for Active Clearance.
ย Key Responsibilities
- Research, plan, design, and develop mechanicalย testย systems in areas including, but not limited to, vibration, thermal, hydraulic, radio frequency, and electro-optical for production testing environmentsย
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models and drawings (Creo / ProE)
- Apply GD&T and tolerance analysis to ensure manufacturability and performance
- Support environmental testing systems (vibration, thermal, RF, electro-mechanical)
- Integrate andย validateย testย systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirementsย
- Troubleshoot issues and recommend design improvements for reliability and performance
- Collaborate with electrical, systems, and manufacturing teams on hardware integration
- Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications toย eliminateย malfunctionsย
ย Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical design or engineering support
- Experience with 3D CAD tools (Creo / ProE preferred)
- Knowledge of GD&T and mechanical design principles
- Experience creating mechanical drawing packages
- U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mechanical and electronic packaging
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Windchill, cPDM)
- Exposure to thermal or structural analysis
- Experience with environmental testing (vibration, shock, thermal)
- Background in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability systems
- Experience with model-based design or systems engineering concepts
