Job description

Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

This entry-level general production role supports multiple functions across the meat-processing production area. The position focuses on general labor tasks, maintaining sanitation and safety standards, and assisting with equipment setup, operation support, and cleanup. You will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, follow established procedures such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations, and help ensure efficient, safe, and consistent production on the 2nd shift.

Essential Skills

  • Dependable and detail-oriented, with the ability to consistently follow established processes.
  • Ability to follow directions accurately and work under minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and in a timely manner.
  • Willingness to work weekends and overtime hours as needed based on production demands.
  • Ability to multi-task safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Capability to stand and walk for the entire shift while performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Comfort working around meat, food products, and cold storage environments.
  • Attention to detail for tasks such as visual inspection of labels, code dates, and product quality.
  • Ability to use both hands for handling, reaching, and operating tools and equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in general labor, production, or food manufacturing environments is beneficial.
  • Experience working in cold storage, cold food, meat processing, or meat cutting environments is helpful.
  • Comfort operating basic material handling tools such as a manual hand jack.
  • Ability to assist with basic mechanical adjustments on production equipment, such as changing tape, film, or other consumables.
  • Willingness to learn and follow GMP and HACCP procedures in a meat-processing facility.
  • Capability to assist in training new employees and supporting team development.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davenport, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
