Job description

Coatings Inspector / NACE Inspector I, II & III – Tri-State Area

We are seeking qualified and motivated Coatings Inspectors for infrastructure, and environmental projects throughout the Tri-State area. Positions are available for experienced inspectors.

Position Overview

Candidates will perform coatings inspections, quality assurance. Responsibilities may include surface preparation inspections, coating application verification, documentation, air monitoring, and compliance with OSHA and project specifications.

Available Positions

  • NACE / AMPP Coatings Inspector Level I
  • NACE / AMPP Coatings Inspector Level II
  • NACE / AMPP Coatings Inspector Level III
  • BCI Inspector I & II

Responsibilities

Coatings Inspection

  • Perform coatings inspections on industrial, marine, bridge, and infrastructure projects
  • Inspect surface preparation and coating applications in accordance with project specifications and industry standards
  • Conduct and document inspections including:
    • Surface profile
    • Dry film thickness (DFT)
    • Wet film thickness (WFT)
    • Adhesion testing
    • Environmental monitoring
  • Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation
  • Coordinate with contractors, project managers, and clients to ensure compliance and quality standards

Health & Safety / Air Monitoring

  • Conduct field air monitoring and environmental sampling
  • Monitor work sites for OSHA compliance and safe work practices
  • Support site safety meetings, audits, and hazard assessments
  • Maintain safety documentation and incident reporting
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations

Qualifications

Preferred Certifications

Coatings Inspection

  • NACE / AMPP CIP Level I, II, or III
  • BCI I or II certifications

Health & Safety

Any or all of the following certifications are acceptable:

  • SST
  • OSHA 30
  • AAMP C3 – C5

Additional Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Tri-State area
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Experience with industrial, bridge, marine, or infrastructure projects is a plus

Entry-Level Opportunities

Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply. Training opportunities may be available for individuals with:

  • AAMP certifications
  • Environmental, construction, or safety-related experience

Work Environment

  • Field-based positions involving indoor and outdoor project sites
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and varying weather conditions may be required
  • Flexible schedule including nights or weekends depending on project needs
