Job description

Job Title: Video amp; Motion Graphics Designer
Location: Ayden, NC
Department: Marketing
Reports To: Head of Marketing
Status: Exempt
WHO WE ARE:
We are Valicy.
We make games. We also make the machines they run on.
What we're building matters. How we treat people matters more.
OUR MISSION
We exist to create excellent gaming experiences, treat our customers the way we want to be treated, and positively impact people's lives through a culture of care.
Seven values guide how we work. We call it our FIGHTER mindset:
Fun: Enjoy the journey together
Innovative: Consistently pushing new boundaries through creativity
Growth: Committed to growing personally and professionally
Humble amp; Passionate: It’s important to be both
Teamwork: Built on trust, healthy conflict, commitment, accountability, and results
Excellence: Pursuing high standards in everything we do
Relational: Building trust and relationships with customers and teammates
If this is the kind of place you've been looking for, let's talk.
SUMMARY: We're looking for a Video Editor and Motion Graphics Designer who can make our games look as exciting on screen as they feel to play. You'll focus on promotional content for Valicy's casino games, cabinets, product launches, trade shows, social media, sales presentations, and digital campaigns. You'll take gameplay footage, game assets, cabinet renders, typography, music, and brand elements and turn them into polished, high-energy videos that make people want to stop, watch, and play. Our games are built in Unity, which means many of the animations, effects, lighting, and visual elements are generated in real time rather than living as traditional frame-by-frame assets. You'll work closely with our developers, artists, and marketing team to figure out the best way to capture those experiences and translate them into content that sells. This is primarily a video editing and motion graphics position, but experience with graphic design, filming, photography, or other forms of visual storytelling is a strong addition.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
● Turn gameplay, cabinet renders, and game assets into promotional videos for launches, trade shows, social, sales decks, and digital campaigns.
● Cut fast-paced edits that capture the energy of each game, not just footage of it.
● Build motion graphics, animated typography, transitions, and branded effects that feel unmistakably like Valicy. ● Work with developers and artists to pull footage and assets out of our Unity builds.
● Find the moments worth showing: the best animations, bonus sequences, features, and wins.
● Composite gameplay with cabinet renders, environment footage, sound, and supporting graphics into one polished piece.
● Build reusable templates and motion systems that keep the whole portfolio looking like one brand.
● Edit interviews, culture content, company stories, and event recaps when we need them.
● Design supporting graphics for social, campaigns, trade shows, and presentations.
● Adapt every piece across platforms, formats, resolutions, and aspect ratios.
● Keep footage, captures, and project files organized so nothing gets lost.
● Collaborate with marketing, art, game dev, product, and sales from concept to final cut.
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Real professional experience in video editing, motion graphics, or a related creative field.
● Advanced Adobe After Effects skills.
● Adobe Premiere Pro, or another professional editing platform you know cold.
● Solid working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
● A portfolio that proves your editing, motion graphics, compositing, and visual storytelling.
● A sharp eye for typography, composition, hierarchy, pacing, and brand consistency.
● The instinct to turn raw footage and assets into content people actually stop to watch.
● Serious attention to detail and a high bar for your own work.
● The ability to juggle multiple projects, deadlines, formats, and rounds of feedback.
● A collaborative streak, and comfort working with creative and technical teams alike.
● Willingness to learn new tools and dig into how our games are actually built.
PREFERRED QUALFICATIONS:
● Experience with Unity or another real-time game engine.
● Experience capturing gameplay footage from development builds or live game environments.
● Familiarity with real-time animation, particle systems, shaders, lighting, and visual effects.
● Experience creating promotional content for games, entertainment, technology, or consumer products.
● Experience with Cinema 4D, Blender, Unreal Engine, or another 3D platform.
● Experience with color correction, sound design, audio mixing, or music editing.
● Experience filming interviews, events, products, or lifestyle content.
● Experience creating social-first content for vertical and short-form platforms.
● Illustration, photography, or additional graphic design capabilities.
● Familiarity with casino games, slot-style experiences, or interactive entertainment.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
● Every game is presented through polished, exciting videos that show what makes it different.
● Promotional content captures the energy of the game, not just footage of it.
● Marketing and game dev have a smooth process for capturing and sharing usable content.
● Valicy has a consistent, recognizable visual and motion style across its games and campaigns.
● Projects land creative, accurate, organized, and on schedule.
