Position Summary

The Security Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of assigned security personnel and ensuring the delivery of professional, high-quality security services to clients. This position provides leadership, coaching, and operational support to field personnel while maintaining compliance with company policies, client expectations, and applicable laws.

The Security Operations Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, conducts site inspections, responds to operational issues, assists with recruiting and onboarding efforts, and develops strong client relationships to ensure exceptional service and contract retention.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Supervise and support assigned security officers and field personnel.
  • Schedule, assign, and monitor daily work assignments.
  • Conduct routine site inspections and quality assurance audits.
  • Ensure officers comply with post orders, company policies, and client requirements.
  • Monitor staffing levels and coordinate coverage for open shifts.
  • Respond to operational issues, emergencies, and client concerns in a timely manner.
  • Prepare incident reports and ensure appropriate documentation is completed.
  • Maintain operational readiness and ensure all required equipment is functional and accounted for.
  • Identify operational risks and recommend corrective actions.

Leadership & Employee Development

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to security personnel.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Address attendance, performance, and conduct concerns in accordance with company policy.
  • Assist with corrective action, coaching, and documentation.
  • Train and develop employees on post orders, safety procedures, emergency response, customer service, and company expectations.
  • Promote professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Recruiting & Human Resources Support

  • Assist with recruiting and staffing initiatives to meet operational needs.
  • Screen applications and participate in candidate interviews.
  • Conduct reference checks when applicable.
  • Assist with hiring recommendations and onboarding activities.
  • Support orientation and field training for new employees.
  • Monitor staffing needs and communicate hiring priorities to Human Resources.

Client Relations & Account Management

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with assigned clients.
  • Conduct regular client visits to evaluate service quality and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Address client concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure contract requirements and service expectations are consistently met.
  • Support client retention through exceptional customer service and proactive communication.

Business Development & Community Engagement

  • Represent Veterans Security Operations professionally within the community.
  • Attend networking events, business functions, hiring fairs, and community outreach activities.
  • Assist in identifying new business opportunities and strengthening existing client partnerships.
  • Promote the company's services and reputation through professional engagement.

Administration & Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
  • Maintain accurate employee and site documentation.
  • Review incident reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor training, licensing, and certification compliance.
  • Communicate operational updates and staffing needs to management.
  • Assist in developing and updating post orders, operational procedures, and security protocols.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Must meet all state licensing requirements for security personnel.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of security operations, emergency response procedures, and incident management.

  • Ability to climb stairs, bend, kneel, and perform physical security duties as required.
  • Ability to respond quickly during emergencies.


Work Environment

  • Work is performed in both office and field environments.
  • Frequent travel between client locations throughout the Portland metropolitan area.
  • Evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday work may be required based on operational needs.
  • Availability to respond to after-hours emergencies and staffing issues.
  • Participation in client meetings, networking events, community outreach, and hiring events is expected.
