About Our Client

Addison Group is partnering with a growing healthcare organization seeking a Medical Billing & Medical Records Specialist to join its revenue cycle team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in medical billing, medical records, or claims processing who enjoys working in a smaller, collaborative office environment.

The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable supporting multiple areas of the revenue cycle as needed.

Job Description

The Medical Billing & Records Coordinator will support a combination of medical records, billing, and claims-related responsibilities. This position will process medical record requests, assist with billing functions, work within a clearinghouse, and help ensure claims and documentation are processed accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and process incoming and outgoing medical records requests.
  • Assist with Release of Information (ROI) requests and obtain necessary patient medical records.
  • Support day-to-day medical billing functions.
  • Work within a healthcare clearinghouse to review and process claim-related information.
  • Assist with claims processing and identify documentation or information needed for submission.
  • Review billing and medical record information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain organized and accurate patient and billing documentation.
  • Follow HIPAA and established procedures when handling protected health information.
  • Assist with additional revenue cycle functions as needed.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the billing team.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve outstanding billing, claims, or records-related issues.

Requirements:

  • Recent experience in medical billing, medical records, or healthcare revenue cycle required.
  • Understanding of medical billing and claims processing workflows.
  • Experience working within a clearinghouse strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical records requests and ROI processes is a plus but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and shift priorities when needed.
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to handle confidential patient information appropriately.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented personality with strong communication skills.
