We’re looking for an Entry-Level Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist to continue their career at Jacobs – where we’ll empower you to learn and grow in the delivery of environmental site characterization and remediation projects for government and global private-sector clients to make our world better.

Based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, you’ll participate in a variety of field and office tasks related to planning and implementing environmental investigation and remediation projects. You’ll learn from other experienced staff who are ready to mentor you, and you’ll pass your knowledge on to others. You’ll gain valuable experience in soil and groundwater sampling as well as subcontractor oversight, spending about 75% of your time in the field. You’ll balance your field work with some time spent in the office evaluating and reviewing data, writing reports and preparing project documents, and coordinating logistics for field activities.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or other closely related degree.
  • 0-2 years of professional experience with delivering environmental site characterization and remediation projects, including fieldwork methodology/procedures and assessment/evaluation of data for various environmental media.
  • 40-hr HAZWOPER certification or the ability to attain this certification.

Ideally you'll also have:

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Local to Chattanooga, T N

The base salary range for this position is $58,656.00 to $81,800.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
