This role provides foundational experience and skills needed to advance to more specialized or senior mechanic positions.

Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday 5:00AM–1:30PM | On-site

Build Your Career With ACECO

We're looking for a reliable Mechanic to join our team to help install, maintain, and repair the industrial machinery that keeps our manufacturing floor running.

Whether you're early in your mechanical career or an experienced tradesperson looking for a structured, safety-focused shop to grow in, this role gives you real equipment to work on and real people to learn from.

What This Role Really Is

You'll spend your shift with your hands on machinery — installing, troubleshooting, and repairing the equipment our manufacturing team depends on. You'll work alongside experienced mechanics, electricians, and engineers, and every fix you make has a direct effect on production.

This role is built to grow. Entry-level mechanics get mentorship and structure. Experienced mechanics get more complex, independent work.

Who Thrives Here (and Who Doesn't)

You'll do well here if you:

  • Have genuine mechanical aptitude and like figuring out why something isn't working
  • Take pride in doing repairs right, not just fast
  • Are comfortable using precision tools and reading mechanical drawings
  • Want to learn from tradespeople who've been doing this a long time
  • Follow safety procedures without needing to be reminded

This role is likely not a fit if you:

  • Prefer desk work or minimal physical activity
  • Get frustrated troubleshooting problems that don't have an obvious fix
  • Cut corners on safety or documentation to save time
  • Aren't interested in building mechanical skill over time

What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)

First 30 Days

  • Learn ACECO's equipment, shop layout, and safety procedures
  • Build working relationships with mechanics, electricians, and engineers
  • Begin performing routine maintenance and basic repairs under guidance

Days 31–60

  • Independently diagnose and repair common mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
  • Use precision measuring tools and mechanical drawings with confidence
  • Maintain consistent documentation of maintenance and repair work

Days 61–90

  • Take on more complex installation and repair work with less oversight
  • Collaborate with engineers and maintenance staff on performance improvements
  • Demonstrate reliable judgment on when to escalate versus resolve independently

Why Join Our Team at American Crane?

Hands-On Impact — Install, repair, and maintain complex industrial machinery

Stable First Shift Schedule — Consistent hours with overtime opportunities as needed

Safety & Quality Focus — Work where precision and craftsmanship matter

Growth Opportunities — Build your skill set alongside experienced tradespeople and engineers

What You'll Do

Installation & Repair

  • Install, assemble, dismantle, and reassemble industrial machinery and equipment
  • Diagnose and repair basic mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
  • Replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments

Maintenance & Testing

  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently
  • Conduct testing to verify proper equipment operation after repairs
  • Use precision measuring tools and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Collaborate with engineers and maintenance personnel to improve machine performance
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas and properly care for tools and equipment
  • Follow all safety regulations and document maintenance and repair work

What We're Looking For

This role requires availability to work full-time hours on-site (no remote work available) Monday-Friday 5:00AM–1:30PM.

Candidates should be located within a reasonable daily commuting distance of 531 Old Swede Road, Douglassville, PA 19518.

If relocation is necessary, the selected candidate must relocate prior to their start date. American Crane & Equipment Corporation does not provide relocation assistance.

  • Ownership and accountability for their work
  • Reliability, professionalism, and follow-through
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • A safety-first mindset
  • Continuous improvement mentality
  • Alignment with ACECO's values of Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, and GRIT

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical or trade school training preferred

Experience

  • Entry level to 4 years of experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing environment

Skills

  • Basic ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Experience using general hand tools and shop equipment
