WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Diesel Mechanic Technician, you’ll be diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.

➤ Perform minor to advanced repairs as outlined on the repair order
➤ Diagnose causes of malfunctions and complete repairs as directed by a supervisor
➤ Assist other technicians on major repairs
➤ Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts
➤ Save and tag warranty or customer-requested parts
➤ Examine vehicles for additional safety or service needs
➤ Document all work performed and recommended, including warranty information
➤ Road test vehicles as required or refer to test technician
➤ Keep work area, service truck, and customer vehicles clean and organized
➤ Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
➤ Stay current on manufacturer technical bulletins
➤ Follow all federal, state, and local regulations, and adhere to Hunter Truck safety policies

Expert to Master levels will also:

➤ Handle complex mechanical and electrical issues with minimal supervision
➤ Performs electrical and/or air conditioning system repairs.
➤ Performs major component repairs and/or overhauls

WHAT YOU BRING

◆ Education & Experience: We’re hiring technicians at all experience levels—from entry-level candidates with up to 3 years of experience to highly skilled professionals with 5+ years in the field. 

◆ Certificates & Licenses: Valid Driver’s License required; must meet company insurability standards. A one-year certificate from a college or vocational/technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience, is preferred.

◆ Physical Requirements: Regular standing and use of hands; frequent walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs, frequently up to 100 lbs, and occasionally more than 100 lbs. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
