About Us:

S.A.M Singapore is a Math Enrichment Program modeled after Singapore Math Pedagogy for children ages 4-12 years old. International studies consistently rank Singapore Math among the best Math Programs in the world. We use CPA (Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract) approach to help students understand the concepts through various manipulatives, games and interactions in a learning rich environment. The students learn new concepts at S.A.M center and reinforce those concepts by practicing specially designed worksheets at home. We make Math learning fun and interesting. We always strive to provide maximum value to our students and parents.


Job Description:

As a S.A.M Math Tutor, you will hold and host 1 hour classes onsite on a set time and day with students who attend once a week. During the 1 hour class, students are actively learning with their S.A.M Math Trainers in a small group learning environment of 3-4 students per group. Each of our students curriculum is individually designed to be tailored made to each child to ensure that they learn and understand the concepts at their own pace.


As our tutor, you must learn to use a unique style of educating our students called the Coaching Pedagogy and the use of math manipulates to strongly encourage students to be better problem solvers, independent thinkers, self-directed learners, and many more. This is a part-time entry level position, ideal for individuals who seek a future career in the educational industry.


Requirements:

  • Prior teaching experience is an advantage, but not required
  • Competent in K-8th grade mathematics
  • Able to work after school hours and Sat
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Passionate in regards to working with children
  • Responsible, patient, and engaged as a team player
  • Ability to work effectively and independently with proper coursework and training
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when dealing with confidential information or students or their families.
