Kleinfelder's Austin, Texas office is seeking an Experienced Laboratory Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our team.

 

We provide construction inspection and material testing services to a broad range of local and national clients. We are looking for individuals who are interested in joining a dynamic team and building their career in the field of construction inspection and materials testing.

We're looking for a person with strong initiative, who will perform routine to complex testing of construction materials in the laboratory, to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications and geotechnical engineering purposes.

The Technician will perform testing on soils, asphalt, aggregates, and concrete materials, and review testing data for accuracy and specification compliance. Must be detail oriented. Technician may be called upon to perform various tasks at the discretion of the supervisor.

Preferred Certifications (or ability to obtain) include:

  • ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician - Grade I
  • Texas DOT Certification Soils, Aggregates, and / or Asphalt 
  • ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician
  • ACI Aggregate Testing Technician
  • ACI Lab Testing Technician
  • Texas DOT Certifications: 1B, SB 101, SB 201, SB 202

The successful candidate will be encouraged to expand their skills through company provided training and mentoring. Depending on the amount of certifications already obtained, you will also be encouraged to obtain any remaining certifications as this is a company requirement. This is a career opportunity to become a member of a highly successful, fast-paced team with a steady and growing backlog of large projects.

Must be able to use a computer and a general knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Must have own vehicle, a valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Majority of work will be at the Austin Office Laboratory but must be willing to travel locally as required to fulfill project assignments. 

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.
