We are currently seeking a Metallurgical Engineer for our Metallurgical and Corrosion Engineering Practice in Seattle, WA.  In this role you will work as part of a team to conduct materials, metallurgical, and mechanical failure investigations, field inspections, and perform materials characterization and specialized testing.      


  • Conducting hands-on failure analyses
  • Materials characterization, metallurgical analysis
  • Planning, coordinating, and executing laboratory testing
  • Conducting field inspections
  • Effective presentation of results to technical and non-technical clients and staff
  • Communicating effectively with other engineers, technicians, managers, clients, and administrative staff

  • Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and a familiarity with Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong background in materials characterization techniques (e.g. metallography, SEM, EDS, FIB, and/or X-ray radiography/diffraction, etc.) is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute to the team
  • Knowledge of failure analysis desired    
  • Presently legally authorized to work in the US, no immigration sponsorship or visa processing required
