What is an entry level mason?

Entry level masons are workers who assist in the construction and repair of structures made from brick, block, stone, or concrete. They typically start by preparing materials, mixing mortar, carrying supplies, and learning basic masonry techniques under the supervision of experienced masons. Over time, they gain skills in laying bricks and blocks, reading blueprints, and using masonry tools. Entry level masons often work on building walls, sidewalks, and other structures, and may eventually advance to become journeyman or master masons as they gain experience.
