The Fire Alarm Service Apprentice Technician is an entry-level role designated exclusively for individuals enrolled in Pye-Barker's formal and registered apprentice program. This position focuses on developing technical competency through structured training, hands-on experience, and defined learning milestones. The apprentice will assist with fire alarm system service activities while working under direct supervision. Individuals remain classified as Level B for the duration of their participation in the registered apprenticeship program, regardless of their business title.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist experienced technicians with service of fire alarm systems.
  • Participate in structured on-the-job training and complete required apprenticeship milestones.
  • Develop technical skills related to fire alarm systems, tools, and equipment.
  • Support troubleshooting activities under supervision.
  • Use hand tools and testing equipment under supervision.
  • Maintain accurate training logs and required documentation for apprenticeship program.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment on job sites.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, mentors, and team members.
  • Travel to job sites as required with assigned team members.
  • Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
  • Travel to job sites as required.

Education/Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be enrolled in Pye-Barker's formal and registered apprentice program.

  • If Driving Role: Must have a clean driving record and active driver's license.
