Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing equipment, machinery, and facility systems under general supervision. This entry-level position supports manufacturing operations by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and assisting with repairs to ensure safe and efficient production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery as assigned
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment using a variety of hand and power tools
  • Follow OSHA standards and all workplace safety procedures
  • Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures and safe machine operation practices
  • Troubleshoot mechanical equipment and identify maintenance needs
  • Read and interpret basic machine schematics and technical documents
  • Maintain organized work areas and properly store tools, parts, and materials
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding equipment status and repair needs
  • Work collaboratively with production and other departments to support operational goals
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Follow directions and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Assist with facility maintenance and other duties as assigned
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, and move materials and equipment as needed, including items weighing up to 50 pounds

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One to two years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, hand tools, and power tools
  • Experience safely operating maintenance equipment and tools
  • Ability to learn and use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, levels, and gauges
  • Ability to diagnose equipment wear, damage, and maintenance issues using measurement and inspection tools
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements
  • Frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
