Job description

Position Description:

This position supports our manufacturing operations with duties across the paper making process. The successful candidate must be comfortable working with large machinery and on a rotating shift basis. All necessary training will be provided but we are looking for someone motivated to learn and grow our company.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Working as part of a team to assist in paper making activities, including cutting cores, core set up, threading, splicing, inspection, and removing rolls.
  • Entering specific production data into the computer for all paper rolls produced.
  • Operate large crane to move spools of paper from the machine.
  • Completing required documentation, reporting, cleaning, and machine
  • wash-ups.
  • Ensuring the provision of raw materials for paper making.
  • Operating a forklift.
  • Monitoring material levels and restocking as required.

Position Requirements:

  • You need to be reliable and dependable so that your team can count on you to be present and ready to work when scheduled
  • You need to be able to learn moderately complex systems
  • You need to be able to navigate through computer screens to locate information and accurately enter data into the system
  • You need to be comfortable with, and capable of, doing physical work – lifting up to 40lbs, standing for extended periods of time, bending, kneeling and climbing ladders
  • You need to be open to the possibilities of working a different shift schedule each week

Most weekends are off but when weekend work is needed, premium pay is provided – time and a half on Saturdays and double time on Sundays.
