Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer 1 supports the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components for Alpha Technologies' precision laboratory instrumentation. This entry-level role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and foundational engineering contributions under the guidance of senior engineers. Ideal for recent graduates or engineers with 0-2 years of experience.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in designing components and subassemblies using 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).

  • Support validation and testing activities, including basic mechanical and thermal analysis.
  • Document technical work including test results, design notes, and engineering changes.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings to understand project requirements.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to address basic engineering issues.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and ISO guidelines.
  • Contribute to product cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of mechanical design experience, internships or co-ops preferred.
