SUMMARY

First Security Bank is seeking a professional, energetic and team-oriented individual to join our team as a Management Trainee! If you are passionate about serving our Arkansas communities and want to be part of a dynamic, service-driven team, we encourage you to apply!

In this role, you will gain foundational skills for entry-level management through hands-on experience across key operational, support, and technology functions. The trainee will learn how to champion First Security Bank?s leadership responsibilities as presented at Bank Better University: Leadership Training. They will also be required to attend various leadership and procedural training classes. This position requires on-site work.

QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE | SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed within are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor?s degree preferred.
  • Strong interest in a career in banking, operations, and leadership.
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, typing, 10-key, and utilization of the internet is required.
  • Commitment to demonstrating First Security's Core 5 values with customers and coworkers.

HOURS OF AVAILABILITY: Regularly Scheduled Hours/Week: 40 (+) hours per week | Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm | *Extended working hours may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Observe and learn from experienced management team members, adapting to various leadership styles and changing priorities to develop leadership, operational, and decision-making skills.
  2. Learn and apply bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements across multiple operational and support areas.
  3. Develop a working knowledge of back-office banking functions, including deposit operations, loan processing, reconciliations, and internal reporting.
  4. Learn and apply bank policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and administrative guidelines, including the Employee Handbook, and assist with maintaining accurate process documentation.
  5. Learn to navigate and support core banking systems, digital banking platforms, and other internal software applications.
  6. Support and promote a positive work environment that encourages employee growth, professional development, accountability, and engagement.
  7. Assist with staff scheduling, task coordination, and team huddles, while serving as a communication liaison between branch staff, departments, and leadership.
  8. Assist management with reviewing daily reports, productivity data, and performance metrics to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  9. Ensure audit controls are followed to protect the Bank from unnecessary risk and exposure.
  10. Discuss and communicate complex and sometimes sensitive subjects with clarity and tact.
  11. Work with management to develop departmental objectives and the specific programs necessary to achieve them.
  12. Protect all customer information and bank operations through strict confidentiality.
  13. Operate computer software and equipment, telephone, scanner, and copier, and develop proficiency with internal banking systems.
  14. Maintain reliable transportation, punctual attendance, and the ability to work on-site with extended hours when necessary.
  15. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Possess sufficient mobility to work in a standard office setting. Perform repetitive hand, arm, wrist, and finger movements while handling currency, documents, and/or office equipment. Substantial time may be spent on the telephone, operating computers, reaching, sitting, and/or standing while occasionally stooping, kneeling, or crouching. The employee must have the ability to speak and hear well enough to carry on customer interactions, conversations, and presentations both in person and over telecommunications. Have near/far visual acuity to identify customers, currency, and reading materials in printed or electronic formats. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
