Job description

POSITION TITLE: Bilingual Family Therapist
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
LOCATION: Durham, NC - Hybrid (Casual, Flexible Work Environment)
JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Parenting of Adolescents Program Manager, the role of the Family Therapist is to provide in-home therapy, utilizing the Multidimensional Family Therapy and Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy program models to adolescents and caregivers involved with or at risk of becoming involved with the Juvenile Justice and Child Protective Service systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
โ€ข Provides therapy to youth and their families utilizing the Multidimensional Family Therapy and Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy program models
โ€ข Meets with families 1 to 3 times per week in the home, office, community and via telehealth
โ€ข Supports families involved with the program in court, school meetings and with prosocial youth activities
โ€ข Administers and collects pre and post-test measures for families involved with the program
โ€ข Completes exams; writes weekly summaries and session plans; videotapes sessions according to model fidelity
โ€ข Participates in weekly group and individual supervision
โ€ข Attends community events and meetings as needed
โ€ข Facilitates groups for teens and families when provided
โ€ข All other tasks as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
โ€ข Minimum degree: Master of Social Work (MSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Marriage and Family Counseling
โ€ข Either Provisionally or fully licensed (LCSW(A))
โ€ข Certified or willing to become certified in the Multidimensional Family Therapy model (MDFT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
โ€ข Bilingual (English/Spanish)
โ€ข Must have reliable transportation for regular home and community visits
โ€ข Experience working with families and youth
โ€ข Highly effective organizational and time management skills
โ€ข Strong adherence to model fidelity
