TITLE: QA/QC INSPECTOR

DEPARTMENT: QA/QC

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform dimensional inspection of springs using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Conduct spring load and compression testing using calibrated load testers to verify force at specified heights, jounce, and working conditions.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to determine product conformance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable international standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO, SAE, MIL-STD) during inspection and documentation.
  • Record inspection results accurately in quality documentation systems (e.g., inspection reports, non-conformance records).
  • Participate in first article, in-process, and final inspections of spring components.
  • Use and maintain gauge tools and equipment, ensuring calibration is up to date.
  • Identify and report non-conformances and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications in inspection or mechanical quality (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in spring production or mechanical inspection.
  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools and inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, indicators, load testers).
  • Familiarity with international quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASTM A370, ISO 10243, SAE J157).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and inspection plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and good documentation practices.
  • Experience with quality software systems (ERP or QMS platforms) is a plus.
  • Ability to lift to 30 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
  • Preferred: NDE II certified for Dye Liquid Penetrant and/or Magnetic Particle inspection.
