Job Title: Press OperatorJob Description

Join our team as an entry-level press operator, where you will assist in every phase of production and become familiar with operator routines. This role is perfect for a high-quality, flexible individual capable of advancing to higher positions within the printing industry.

Responsibilities
  • Print high-quality products while maintaining minimal scrap and acceptable productivity levels.
  • Acquire knowledge of printing techniques, machine capabilities, and paper qualities.
  • Learn to troubleshoot on printing equipment and maintain it based on Preventive Maintenance schedules and daily cleaning schedules.
  • Inform production teams of key issues daily and set a good example by displaying an excellent work ethic and being a team player.
  • Safeguard against sanitation, pest control, and contamination concerns.
  • Monitor product integrity and report any signs of contamination or quality defects.
  • Report potential sources of contamination or impacts to performance or quality promptly.
Essential Skills
  • Technical and mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work history.
  • Ability to read a tape measure down to a 1/64 inch.
  • Pass a color vision test.
  • Experience with printing presses.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Capable of reading a ruler in increments up to 1/64 inch.
  • Ability to mix base color inks to create PMS colors.
  • Some mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Goal-oriented with good computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is helpful.
  • Ability to accurately record data into handwritten logs and computer programs such as Excel or MIS software.

Work Environment

Work in a clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled environment. Safety glasses and closed-toe shoes are required, with no jewelry, painted fingernails, or strings on clothing allowed. Shifts are 8 hours long, with 1st shift from 7 AM-3 PM and 2nd shift from 3 PM-11 PM. Training will be on the 1st shift for 1 to 3 months.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
