Job description

West Fraser Cochrane division is hiring for a Weekend Clean up labourer. The preferred candidate will have attention to safety and efficiency is a must. Good interpersonal and communication skills are also required to work in our team environment. This is an entry level position that can lead to a transfer to the Sawmill, Planer or Treating Plant department.

You’ll Do:

  • Prepare equipment for operation by removing dust and debris in and around machines.
  • Operate bobcat and bucket loader for larger clean up jobs
  • Empty sawdust and chip bins
  • Blow down beams, pipes, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic units and walls
  • Assist millwrights with repairs if requested
  • Regular lifting of 15-25lbs and periodically up to 60lbs may occur
  • Use various hand tools
  • Work both indoors and outdoor, in all weather conditions
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, wear all required personal protective equipment
