Mission

Operates and maintains a micro surfacing machine and related heavy equipment for road maintenance projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality application of materials. Supports both field operations during the construction season and shop-based maintenance activities during the off-season, in full compliance with safety and environmental guidelines.

Main Responsibilities
  • Operate micro surfacing and related heavy equipment in accordance with safety standards and project requirements
  • Apply all safety procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Prepare work activities by reviewing project plans and transporting equipment to job sites
  • Set up traffic control and ensure safe access to work areas
  • Adjust and operate equipment to ensure proper material application
  • Perform work as directed by supervisors while maintaining quality standards
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance
  • Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to supervisors promptly

Profile
  • Experience operating heavy equipment (paving, road construction, or similar preferred)
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 5 or higher preferred)
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions during the construction season
  • Willingness to work seasonally in the field and in the shop during winter months (Leduc)
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
  • Relevant certifications or authorizations to operate equipment are considered an asset
