Technician-Mechanics perform Jiffy Lubes' Signature Service Oil Change, routine preventative maintenance, vehicle diagnostics, testing, and replacing worn and defective parts. This is an important job in our Jiffy Lube stores and critical to our success. And every J-Team member receives comprehensive training from Jiffy Lube University, our award-winning training program. We even offer Ace Accreditation of up to 32 college credits for completion and certification of Jiffy Lube University courses.
However, if you're concerned that we only perform fluid and preventative maintenance, [well], we expanded our core business to include every major and minor repair service from tires to brakes to engine performance, suspension and electrical to name a few. And we're not only a one stop shop, but our technicians and master mechanics can compete with the many new car dealers, tire center and repair facilities.

Plus Technician Qualifications
Previous experience is essential and requires a minimum of 1-year working for a dealership, automotive shop, tire center or quick lube. However, we will consider a strong candidate with general service experience or Vo-Tech internship. A high school diploma or GED is required, and for those considering college you can earn credits through Jiffy Lube (Ace Credit) courses. Also, all J-Team members must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as be able to speak effectively with our guests and other teammates.
Once you've become certified, we offer advancement opportunities to become a Service Advisor or Supervisor-Key Holder.

Physical Qualifications
Plus Technicians must expect to stand for long periods of time on hard surfaces, like concrete or metal, and expect to work in an environment in which you may frequently experience hot and cold temperatures, loud noises, and exhaust fumes.

• Must be able to operate equipment such as overhead and floor mounted oil and grease guns, transmission machine, air conditioner service machine, radiator service machine, hand tools and basic shop equipment
• Must be able to lift and move work-related items up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to push, pull, lift, and bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, and turn head-neck-shoulders as needed
Requirements
• Plus Technicians are responsible for performing Jiffy Lubes Signature Oil Change, fluid maintenance, filters, wipers, belts, batteries, and inspect and repair brakes, tires, suspension, electrical, engine, and other repair services
• Have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, motivated, and a team player
• Must have a valid driver's license and authorized to work in the U.S.
• Complete all required training courses through Jiffy Lube University
• Perform clean up duties and ensure the service center is orderly and presentable
