The Opportunity (Job description):

The Computational Catalysis Group, led by Prof. Shyam Kattel at the University of Central Florida, has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral researcher position. An ideal candidate should have experience in modeling electrochemical reactions on surfaces and interfaces using first-principles density functional theory (DFT), grand canonical DFT (GC-DFT) calculations, microkinetic modeling, and machine learning methods, and in developing machine learning interatomic potentials (MLIPs).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph. D. in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background and interest in theoretical heterogeneous catalysis.
  • Expertise with DFT, GC-DFT, and machine learning methods.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and mentorship skills and ability to interact with a diverse team.
