Job Summary
As a Software Design Engineering Co-op you will be joining the process innovation team focused on building the factory of the future. We are a young and ambitious team developing high-tech cutting-edge products for improving the quality & efficiency of our automated production while improving the lives of our staff/colleagues.
Your role will be part of our Computer Vision team where you will be developing products to improve the quality of the parts we make and modernize common manufacturing processes.
Topics may include: camera hardware interfacing, vision analysis pipelines, machine learning, GPU computing, etc.
The broader team is also responsible for building autonomous vehicles, web apps, and a broad all-encompassing development framework/platform for building, developing, and deploying our solutions. This is a fully in-person role.

Required Skills
Hard Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficient with Python, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience working with Linux-based operating systems (such as: Debian, Ubuntu)

Expected Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in and returning to a post-secondary Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related program.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Experience developing software projects beyond academic coursework.
  • Experience with Linux and Git-based development workflows.
  • Comfortable applying mathematical concepts such as linear algebra in code.
  • Experience with at least one of: Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Robotics, or Embedded Systems.
  • Ability to independently debug and solve complex technical problems. 

Bonus Points

  • Developed computer vision applications using OpenCV.
  • Experience with C++, CUDA, Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, or similar technologies.
  • Experience working with cameras, sensors, robots, or industrial hardware.
  • Completed courses such as Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Linear Algebra II, or advanced Algorithms/Data Structures.
  • Participated in robotics teams, engineering design teams, research projects, hackathons, open-source projects, or technical competitions.
  • Demonstrated leadership through technical projects, student organizations, or engineering teams
