Job description

Job Summary
Reporting into the Operations Manager, the Logistics Associate I position will be trained in an entry level position pertaining to but not limited to Receiving, Shipping and Final QA. Responsible in ensuring orders flow properly and consistently supporting logistics throughout the entire supply chain process from procurement, internal handling for production to final shipping to customers. The position will take direction from Supervisors or Leads within the department and learn all aspects of the company’s logistics in order to optimize customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions amp; Responsibilities
§ Takes direction from Operations Manager and designated staff to ensure orders flow properly and consistently; works in a variety of roles to assist the team’s goals
§ Receiving - Receives and confirms inbound repair/warranty orders
§ Receives trucks and unloads merchandise, opens incoming orders and properly stages each order according to WI-05-05
§ Stacks merchandise on racks according to the direction of Supervisor or Lead
§ Follows well defined procedures as outlined by Work Instructions, creates, and follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and work instructions
§ Ensures all issues and serial numbers are noted and visual inspection of each unit is documented using order notes and taking pictures of each unit(s) received
§ Documents any damages, verifies and properly records customer owned products
§ Shipping -Packages outgoing orders adhering to established SOP’s
§ Boxes orders, confirms each order matches to the corresponding packing slip, ensures that both quantities and serial numbers match the orders
§ QA Cleaning: Cleans and properly labels all orders according to established procedures
§ Works effectively with a diverse cross-functional team
§ Embraces Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies
§ Works professionally and efficiently with all level within the organization
§ Adheres to all company employment policies and safe practices
§ Performs other duties as assigned
Experience/Training/Education/QA Competence
§ Associate Degree in Business, Accounting or associated field preferred
§ 0-2 years’ experience in relevant experience
§ Medical device experience, highly preferred.
§ Experience in a scientific or medical manufacturing setting, highly preferred
§ Experience in GLP/GMP environment, preferred
§ Strong working knowledge of inventory management software (e.g. ERP)
§ The Logistics Associate I will be trained to the basic requirements of 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO13485:2016 which are translated into the Standard Operating Procedures and the Work Instructions and Forms that apply to his / her assignments.
§ The Logistics Associate I will be trained in the following: SOP-723-01 and WI-05-05, WI-05-01, WI-17-02, WI-17-04.
§ Operations Manager, Lead or Delegate will train the Logistics Associate l so that he or she knows how to locate the current revisions of applicable (see Training Matrix) Procedures, Forms, and Service Manuals that govern his / her work.

General: Excellent interpersonal and professional behavior. Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet regular and frequent deadlines. Attention to detail required. Ability to work well as a team member. Must demonstrate sound work ethic, flexibility, respectfulness, honesty and trustworthiness. Must also be punctual and dependable. Must possess cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Technical: Ability to effectively use business software and Enterprise systems, email, search engine, Internet; ability to effectively use Microsoft Products: Outlook, Word, Excel and to use or learn specific software needed to improve productivity.
Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of the organization. Ability to read through reporting and compliance requirements.
Math amp; Reasoning: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and willingness to adapt to change and take the initiative.
Physical and Environmental Elements
Physical Demands: This position may be very active and requires the ability to stand or walk continuously for over 3/4 of normal work shift, and stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for at least 1/4 of the normal work shift. Ability to climb stairs. Ability to regularly lift or move objects up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50-100 pounds; frequently needs to pull or push items. Ability to sit for two or more hours. Ability to talk or hear continuously. Ability to see clearly to do all work-related tasks (clear or corrected vision at 20 inches or less). Finger dexterity is required frequently for over 3/4 of the normal work shift.
Work Environment: Position is typically performed in the production/warehouse environment where temperatures are subject to outdoor conditions in terms of cold and heat. There is exposure to various tools and equipment as well as forklift operations and corresponding noise levels. The employee will use stairs to conduct business in office setting using standard with standard equipment and moderate noise levels.
