1st job – Oracle DBA/sysadmin
She would like someone who has some linux admin experience in addition to the oracle.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oracle Database Administration
- Database Backup and Recovery
- Database performance tuning
- Establish and test Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans
- OS Administration(Linux and Windows)
- Scripting with shell, Perl or Python
- Experience automating database maintenance functions
- Setup and support of Backup software
- Migrating new software releases into Production
- Maintain development and QA environments for Enterprise system
- Provide first line support for Enterprise applications.
Minimum requirements:
- BS in Computer Science or related field of study and/or equivalent practical experience.
- Extensive Oracle Database Administration experience essential in a High Volume, Very Large Scale Database (terabyte), Mission Critical Database (must have experience supporting SLA’s)
- Experience with datawarehouses and datamarts
- Database Backup and Recovery experience required
- Database performance tuning experience required
- Scripting with shell, Perl or Python essential
- Experience in setting up and testing Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans
- Experience co-ordinating the development and testing of projects required
- Experience migrating new software releases into Production required
- Experience maintaining development and QA environments for Enterprise system required
- Experience in database clustering
- OS Administration skills (Solaris, Linux and Windows preferred)
- Some Data Modeling experience; database normalization
- Programming Experience in a higher order language required;
- SDLC
- Experience Installing Oracle
- Experience tuning SQL queries and mentoring programmers in tuning SQL queries
- Experience with monitoring software preferred
- Experience in Backup software
- Knowledge of Webservers (Apache, IIS) and Application Servers (WebSphere, JBoss, Oracle) is a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple tasks in a team environment.
