Job description

$500 sign on bonus paid after 90 days.

The Lift Station Superintendent is directly responsible for the successful completion of all jobs assigned. The Lift Station Superintendent will supervise on site personnel and subcontractors necessary to complete the specific job and perform or direct the installation of lift stations.  Incumbent is expected to have excellent attendance and communication skills, possess the ability to build lasting business relationships, and exhibit professionalism.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This is a description of the major responsibilities of this position.  These job duties are subject to change according to job requirements.  This is a summary and is not meant to include all activities that may be required to successfully perform in this job.

  • Supervise and direct staff in the day-to-day activities related to the installation of lift stations, pressure line taps, line stops, and Inserta valves
  • Must have a mechanical understanding of lift stations
  • Responsible for the inspection of all work to insure adherence with job specifications and standards
  • Responsible to inspect the invert and possible infiltration
  • Directly assist with these activities as required by job

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, owners and vendors
  • Strength in prioritizing, organizing and executing tasks
  • Stay on task with multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
  • Must be fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • Ability to read and understand plans
  • Welding experience preferred

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years or more supervisory experience in a construction environment
  • One (1) year experience with lift stations
  • Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to descend into and ascend from storm sewer structures and sewer manholes to inspect and instruct
  • Ability to work outside all day in the elements (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
  • Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Walking or standing without rest periods up to 2.5 hours
  • Repeated bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, climbing, digging, shoveling, sweeping
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance of duty on secured locations. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of an offer.
