Specialty Cleaning Technician - High-End Fabric / Leather & Rugs

SOLUTIONS FABRIC AND LEATHER LLC

Los Angeles, CA • On-site

$25 - $32/hr

Full-time

Job description

About Solutions Fabric & Leather
Solutions Fabric & Leather is a premium specialty cleaning company caring for luxury fabric, leather, upholstery, and rugs inside the homes of high-end clients, designers, and property managers throughout Southern California. Our core work is the meticulous cleaning and care of delicate, high-value textiles — silk, velvet, mohair, leather, suede, wool. Fire and smoke restoration is a growing service line we are actively expanding. We are not a basic carpet-cleaning company — our reputation is built on craftsmanship, documentation, and the long-term preservation of valuable materials.
In business since 2013, every client relationship built through word-of-mouth. We are a "Solutions" first, client-centered company, and we constantly evolve to meet what our clients need. One recent example: when the Palisades fires threatened so many of the people we serve, we trained, sourced equipment, and stood up our fire and smoke contents-restoration capability so we could be there. That is who we are.
Trust and respect are hard to earn. Once earned, we protect them like a lion. We are looking for a technician who wants to come grow with us.
The Role
You will work directly under our Founder/Technical Lead on jobs ranging from routine fabric cleaning to delicate restoration of high-value pieces. Not repetitive carpet work. Every job is different.
This is a part-time, W-2 position — with full-time hours during peak periods and overtime. We schedule around your existing commitments.
How Pay Works at SFL
Every technician starts at $25/hour with a 90-day review. Pay growth is tied to demonstrated work at SFL, not your résumé. Experience matters, but it has to translate to how you show up on our jobs.
What You'll Do
  • Meet at our Jefferson/La Brea warehouse, travel to client homes in a company vehicle
  • Clean, care for, and protect high-end fabric, leather, upholstery, rugs, and specialty textiles — our core daily work
  • Apply fabric protection and condition treatments
  • Fire- and smoke-related contents and soft-goods restoration — a growing portion of our work as we expand
  • Document every job: condition, products, communication, photos
What We Need
  • Discretion. Many of our clients are public figures, celebrities, or ultra-high-net-worth households. All technicians sign an NDA on hire. We do not discuss clients — not with friends, not on social media, ever.
  • Putting your best foot forward at every job. Our clients let us into their homes; that access is a privilege.
  • 2-4 years cleaning, restoration, or upholstery experience
  • Valid driver's license, clean record (DMV pull required)
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs, work on feet, handle stairs and tight spaces
  • Clean-cut appearance, calm professional demeanor in client homes
  • Background check on hire
Helpful but Not Required
  • IICRC certifications (UFT, LCT, FCT, FSRT) — we sponsor certification for the right candidate
  • Leather restoration or fire/smoke experience
  • Spanish/English bilingual
Why Work Here
  • Real craft, not volume work — you will become genuinely skilled
  • Direct mentorship from a Founder actively in IICRC coursework
  • Premium clients = better job sites and tips, no chaotic environments
  • Flexible scheduling around your other commitments
  • Path to lead tech for the right person as we grow
  • Employee Assistance Program through ADP
  • 48 hours/year of paid sick leave, accrued by hours worked (California compliant)
How to Apply
Apply through this posting. Include: why this work interests you, any certifications you hold, your availability and any current commitments we should schedule around, and references. Solutions Fabric & Leather is an equal opportunity employer.
