About the Role

Curries, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is building out our Engineering Team. We are adding a Quality Engineer role that will be based on site at our Mason City, Iowa facility.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and sustain elements of the QMS, including corrective actions, supplier quality management, customer complaints, change control, audit processes, standard procedures, test methods, and process.
  • Deploy process controls throughout the operating system, team with operations to improve COPQ performance, and conduct training to achieve goals.
  • Conduct formal rootโ€‘cause analysis and corrective actions to understand and eliminate defective products.
  • Help develop process controls to reduce process variation to target control limits.
  • Routinely update SOPs, operator work instructions, and training materials to reflect continuous improvement to quality.
  • Monitor, control, and analyze product and process quality to meet internal and external customer requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with production to detect root causes for defects during production phases.
  • Work with the Quality Manager to analyze data for developing and implementing preventative measures to limit or eliminate quality defects.
  • Facilitate Lean Six Sigma process improvement opportunities throughout the plant and be an ambassador for quality and process excellence.
  • Be responsible for the site RMA/RFC process, including evaluation, processing, corrective actions, and disposition, in concert with the Warranty Claims Manager.
  • Assure compliance with state, federal, local, and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associateโ€™s degree required; Bachelorโ€™s degree in a technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a quality production environment.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green certification preferred.
  • ASQ CQE Certification a plus.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal or other quality management systems preferred.
  • Subjectโ€‘matter expert on quality systems; gage and inspection systems with defined CARS and remediation to drive performance improvements.
  • Implementation, support, or improvement of Quality Management System (QMS) preferred.
  • Knowledge of systems to support ISO 9001.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop effective teams without extensive oversight.
  • Excellent collaborative, analytical, problemโ€‘solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to multiโ€‘task and handle tasks or projects with competing priorities.
