Job Description Summary

Position Objectives: The Material Handler is responsible for supporting production by receiving, storing, moving, and distributing materials throughout the facility. This role includes loading and unloading deliveries, verifying incoming materials, staging materials for production, and maintaining organized inventory areas. The Material Handler operates forklifts and material handling equipment and works under direct supervision in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Pull and deliver materials to production areas according to work orders and schedules.
  • Load and unload materials from delivery trucks and move items to designated storage locations.
  • Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders, including quantities, descriptions, and condition of materials.
  • Maintain organized inventory storage areas, including labeling, sorting, and tracking materials.
  • Record material movement, quantities, and locations to support accurate inventory control.
  • Stage materials and supplies for production teams and maintain in process inventory at work centers.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments by identifying, pulling, packing, and securing materials for transport.
  • Receive returned or excess materials from production and verify quantities and material codes.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and in accordance with OSHA requirements.
  • Perform pre use inspections and basic operator level maintenance on material handling equipment.
  • Keep inventory areas, loading zones, and equipment clean and orderly.
  • Open containers, sort materials, and assist with cataloging inventory items.
  • Follow all workplace safety rules, PPE requirements, and plant procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
  • Previous warehouse, stock, or inventory experience preferred.
  • Previous forklift or pallet jack experience preferred.
  • Must obtain OSHA approved forklift certification after hire.
  • Strong ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, labels, and material information.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet production deadlines.
  • Knowledge of basic inventory control practices.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
  • Basic data entry skills for recording material movement.

Base Pay Range: $18.99 - 26.11

Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
