Job description

Urgent Need Speech Language Pathologist
Schedule
• Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
• No weekends or overtime
• Typically 40 hours; may be sent home if work finishes early

Position Summary
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates and treats residents with speech, language, swallowing, hearing, and cognitive impairments under physician treatment plans and in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Essential Functions
• Screen, evaluate, and develop care plans
• Provide treatment per plan of care
• Conduct rehab programs for communication, swallowing, and cognition
• Administer/interprets speech and hearing tests
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers
• Complete accurate, timely documentation
• Collaborate with rehab and nursing teams
• Maintain HIPAA privacy and attendance

Other Functions
• Develop short- and long-term therapy goals
• Communicate plans to families/guardians
• Maintain evaluations, daily notes, and summaries
• Perform other assigned duties

Knowledge/Skills
• Effective speech therapy techniques
• Understanding geriatric care needs
• Strong clinical skills

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
• Active Arizona SLP license
• Entry-level candidates encouraged
• 2-step TB test or QuantiFERON Gold test
