Job description

Speech Language Pathologist - Acute Care

Location: Plantation, FL

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Speech Therapy team in an acute care setting. This position requires proficiency in conducting swallow evaluations, speech and language evaluations, and dysphagia treatments. The ideal candidate will have experience with adult and geriatric populations, specifically in acute care environments. Candidates should be able to work independently and demonstrate strong patient advocacy and clinical strength.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct swallow evaluations for patients, including post-extubation assessments and evaluations for dysphagia.
  • Provide speech and language evaluations and treatments.
  • Perform dysphagia treatments effectively.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Active Florida Speech Language Pathology License (No provisional licenses accepted).
  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
