General Description

Ruppert Landscape is a commercial landscape construction and management company, a family-owned and employee-owned business, headquartered in Laytonsville, MD. Our mission is to provide opportunities for our people, take excellent care of our customers, and be good stewards of the environment and our community.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage estimating workflow to provide complete proposals before bid deadlines
  • Assist customers with technical information and pricing during pre-construction
  • Review plans and specifications to determine our scope of work and the most effective production methods
  • Define scopes of work for various trades and distribute subcontract bid packages
  • Recommend and review preferred subcontractors on each job to Project Managers
  • Solicit written quotes for hard materials and site furnishings
  • Submit plant lists to Purchaser to be sourced and priced
  • Complete plan take-off and enter bid information into the company’s preferred software program
  • Assign or propose profit margins based on current pricing guidelines
  • Review bids with Branch and Division Managers based on approval limits
  • Participate in pre-job and post-job meetings

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
  • Ability to build relationships with subcontractors and customers
  • Experience with Estimating Software desired 
  • Strong oral and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced work environment
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Basic understanding of business math and reporting
  • 1 Year minimum experience preferred, but not necessary for entry-level candidates
