Job description

Procurement Associate I 

  • The Position: We’re looking for candidates to fill an entry level position Processing and Recovery Laboratory Associate, this position will support the recovery and processing department.
  • Job Type: Per-diem with the future opportunity to join our team as a Full Time Employee.
  • Pay Rate: $14 hourly (base rate)
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in physical processing of incoming & returned cadaveric specimens.
  • Prepare Paperwork for specimen processing
  • Take X-RAYS for new whole donors or newly procured segments with surgical scars on major joints of use. 
  • Assist with processing and procurement of whole donors.
  • Prepare Paperwork for New Donors.
  • Legibly and accurately record all data into forms/paperwork.
  • Data entry of all notes and information into database system for tracking purposes.
  • Upload Images (photos, fluoro scans, etc) and scanned Innoved forms into our data system.
  • Upload specimen photos and forms to specimen records in data base 
  • Prepare specimens for special client requests when needed (clean/shave/water-bath/inject/etc)
  • Log specimen issues/take photos for records and report to supervisor.
  • Label and transfer cadaveric tissue between freezers.
  • Frequently fast-paced environment while having a high level of attention to detail. 
  • Able to work under changing conditions and urgent needs
  • Assist with freezer organization and tissue storage
  • Assist with general facility maintenance & cleaning
  • Adhere to all safety and compliance regulations and internal standards of procedure.
  • Understand, enforce, and utilize safe lab practices and maintain a clean working environment and facility standards.
  • Availability for occasional additional hours or weekend laboratory special events.
Additional tasks to include assist other departments as needed, training provided
 
Requirements:
  • A curiosity & a general comfort in working with human cadaveric specimen
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Self-motivated, professional and detail oriented.
  • Proven ability to multi-task effectively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Computer proficiency including working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Physical Demands:
Requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods of time, ascend and descend stairs.
