Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and desire to be a positive influence on others. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality swimming instruction to students of all ages and skill levels, ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning environment. Your role will involve developing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and promoting water safety awareness.
Duties
  • Conduct swimming lessons for individuals and groups, adapting instruction to meet the needs of each student.
  • Develop engaging lesson plans that follow the proven SafeSplash curriculum.
  • Monitor students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
  • Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing pool rules and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students and their families regarding progress, concerns, and achievements.
  • Collaborate with other instructors to create a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay updated on best practices in swim instruction and safety.
Experience
  • Previous experience as a lifeguard is highly desirable..
  • Background in sports coaching, teaching physical education, or experience working with students is preferred.
  • Familiarity with various kids' sports such as basketball, cheerleading, climbing, judo, karate, or martial arts can be beneficial.
  • Ability to speak confidently and clearly with both children and adults.
  • A strong understanding of childcare principles is an asset.
