The Junior Production Planner supports the planning and scheduling of manufacturing activities to ensure products are produced efficiently, on time, and in accordance with customer requirements. This role works closely with production, purchasing, inventory, quality, and logistics teams to maintain production schedules, monitor material availability, and help optimize manufacturing processes.


This position is designed for an individual with a strong desire to learn, develop technical and analytical skills, and build a long-term career in production planning, supply chain, and operations management. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training, exposure to cross-functional business processes, and opportunities for professional growth while contributing to the success of the manufacturing operation.


This position is based in North Tonawanda, NY.


In addition to annual initiatives, the key responsibilities are as follows:


Key Accountabilities:

  • Planning both short-term and long-term capacity to align supply and demand to support sales
  • Executing timely releases of work orders to production teams
  • Monitoring and prioritizing sub-level and finished goods production orders
  • Building a close working relationship with production team stakeholders
  • Working closely with Buyers to expedite materials, ensuring strong forecasting metrics are in place and followed regularly
  • Reviewing and flagging potential and actual impacts on open orders
  • Monitoring weekly and monthly production plans to prioritize work orders
  • Preparing and submitting detailed reports relating to Material Requirements Planning (MRP), back-orders, and schedules
  • All other duties as may be assigned


What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should bring:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 0–2 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing, inventory control, or supply chain operations.
  • Internship, co-op, or relevant manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Strong ability to navigate Microsoft-based programs, and web-based software
  • Intermediate level skill with Microsoft Excel: pivot tables, filtering, formulas, conditional formatting, slicers, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English
  • Creative problem-solving skills, simplifying solutions, and performing root cause analyses.
  • Ability to professionally manage conflicts with internal and external stakeholders and provide clear, well-thought-out recommendations
  • Operates with a sense of urgency and consistently delivers results.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing production requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Transparent and authentic communication style in all interactions.
