Job description

Our client is seeking a Sr. Full-Stack Java Software Engineer to join a team performing software development assignments. This is a mostly remote position with monthly ON SITE requirements in Kansas City, MO. The current focus is completing annual code and metadata maintenance on legacy Java applications that use complex SQL to leverage metadata. This role involves attending daily standups and working across a mixed legacy and modern codebase.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and enhance legacy Java Web applications driven by metadata stored in Oracle tables.
  • Build and support Spring Boot services with JPA and persistence layers.
  • Develop Angular SPA components using TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Write and tune complex SQL across Oracle and Snowflake environments.
  • Perform dependency and CVE remediation while working under SCA and quality gates.
  • Attend daily standups to report progress, plan the day, and raise impediments.
Requirements
  • Experience as a senior-level full-stack engineer.
  • Extensive Java experience (8+, ideally 17+) with Spring Boot and JPA.
  • Angular and TypeScript SPA development experience plus HTML and CSS.
  • Strong SQL skills across Oracle Database, PL/SQL, and Snowflake.
  • Experience with dependency and CVE remediation using tools (e.g., Nexus IQ, SonarQube).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across a mixed legacy and modern codebase.
Preferred
  • Experience maintaining and enhancing legacy Java Web apps (JSP, JSF, PrimeFaces) driven by metadata in Oracle.
  • Experience with GitLab, IntelliJ, and Kiro.
  • Test-driven development using JUnit and experience with Maven or Gradle.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and debugging depth.
  • Experience with insurance or financial regulatory data.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Agile or SAFe methodologies.

This is a 12-month Contract opportunity with our Kansas City, MO client.
