Job description

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Big Data Engineer with strong experience on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design, build, and optimize large-scale data processing systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performance data solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable big data pipelines on GCP

  • Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows for structured and unstructured data

  • Work with GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage

  • Ensure data quality, reliability, security, and performance across pipelines

  • Optimize queries and storage for cost and performance efficiency

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements

  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for data pipelines

  • Follow best practices for data governance, security, and compliance

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong experience as a Big Data Engineer or similar role

  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • Proficiency in BigQuery and SQL (advanced level)

  • Experience with Apache Spark / PySpark

  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java

  • Experience building batch and streaming pipelines
