Job Summary:
Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Software Engineer who is driven by purpose and ready to build software that supports mission-critical operations across the space domain. The role involves designing, developing, and enhancing software for ground systems and real-time capabilities, addressing complex engineering challenges and improving operational performance.
Responsibilities:
• design, develop, and enhance the software developed for ground systems and the real‑time capabilities that space missions rely on
• take ownership of complex engineering challenges from modernizing legacy components to architecting new mission‑focused capabilities that improve performance, resilience, and operational speed
• shape how data is processed, how systems communicate, and how mission teams execute with precision
Qualifications:
Required:
• 2+ years of experience in software development with programming languages such as Java, Python, Rust, or GO
• Experience transitioning legacy applications to a modernized microservice-based architecture
• Experience writing source code for new applications or generating and enhancing code samples for existing applications
• Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
• Bachelor's degree
Preferred:
• Experience operating within an Agile environment
• Experience with Linux-based systems, containers, and orchestration tools, including Docker or Kubernetes
• Experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications
• Experience acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization
• Experience working within a Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) such as AWS, Azure, or Google
• Experience with C#, C, C++, JavaScript, React, or Node.js
• Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance
• Master’s degree
