Job description

Description:

MOBIS Technical Center of North America is the Research & Development Center for Hyundai MOBIS, a Tier 1 supplier and an affiliate under Hyundai Motor Group. MOBIS produces and supplies a wide variety of automotive components to customers including component modules (chassis, cockpit and front-end module), core system, eco-friendly and DAS-mechatronics. Mobis delivers the design and development of advanced engineering, autonomous driving, infotainment, component modules, safety, brake and steering systems, lamp, ICS/electronics and software development solutions that consider the safety and convenience of our customers as well as the future.  

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Develop Kotlin, Java Android applications for an in-vehicle Infotainment product
  • Development of new vehicle programs with Digital Radio broadcast features
  • Using JIRA for issue analysis and resolution
  • Participate in design & code reviews
  • Creation of software requirement and design documents
  • Participate in vehicle quality events
  • Manage small projects and technical resources, including planning estimating and follow through
  • Work with the customer to refine requirements and to resolve issues

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED SKILLS/ REQUIRMENTS:

  • Experience in developing automotive multimedia/infotainment software highly desired
  • Experience developing on Android Auto
  • Experience developing in Kotlin
  • Experience using the Android Studio profiling tools to identify & resolve performance bottlenecks
  • Experience in writing multi-threaded systems, and diagnosing related defects (like Deadlocks, Race Conditions, etc)
  • In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required.
  • Be a team player.
  • Have great attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be reliable (with reliable mode of transportation.)

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering or similar technical field

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must have the ability to walk short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

  • 40+ hours per week

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Office work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.

TRAVEL: 

  • Occasional international travel
  • Frequent local travel
