Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Civil Engineer I is an entry level position that is responsible for performing a wide variety of duties, some of a confidential nature including, but not limited to, engineer duties in planning, designing and overseeing constructions and maintenance of building structures, and facilities, such as roads, railroads, airports, bridges, harbors, channels, dams, irrigation projects, pipelines, power plants, water and sewage systems, and waste disposal units.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Civil Engineer I works under direct supervision to perform a variety of duties including but not limited to:

Assist senior engineers in a broad range of engineering activities.

Perform engineering work on variety of infrastructure/public works projects.

Acquire data and prepare reports and calculations.

Assist in the preparation of cost estimates.

Participate in business development and proposal activities.

Gather and record information to be used for writing specifications.

Prepare technical studies and reports.

Will review and analyze plans, designs and activities, and the evaluation of technical data in a variety of engineering projects.

Perform other office duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 0-2 years' of experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must provide a clean driving abstract upon hire.
