Job description

About Turn/River
Turn/River Capital is a private equity firm that applies a proprietary growth engineering strategy to investing, partnering with software businesses to accelerate growth and build enduring value. The firm's team of equal parts investors and operators provides hands-on operational support and the flexible capital to systematically scale marketing, sales and customer success at its portfolio companies. Founded in 2012 and based in San Francisco, Turn/River has $5.6bn in committed capital and invests globally with a focus on North America and Europe.
About the Role
This is a 2 year, entry-level Analyst program beginning August 2027
We're looking for driven individuals with an interest in tech and finance to join Turn/River's growing Investment & Sourcing Team. Turn/River partners with software companies by providing both capital and hands-on operational expertise, with a deep focus across marketing, sales, and customer operations.
In this role, you'll identify and evaluate B2B software businesses based on financial performance and operational improvement opportunities aligned with Turn/River's proprietary go-to-market playbooks. You'll speak directly with CEOs of software companies, learning how to grow software companies with modern strategies. Deal identification and sourcing is a critical function of our investment strategy, and exceptional performers will have the opportunity to grow into partner-track investing roles over time.
Prior finance experience or coursework is a plus, but not required. We encourage applicants from varied backgrounds and undergraduate programs, including but not limited to marketing, communications, business, political science, and psychology. Ideal candidates will have high energy, provide thoughtful insights, excel in prioritization, and take creative approaches to identifying and getting in front of top prospects, all while working effectively within a team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and define market opportunities and verticals that are interesting to Turn/River
  • Engage with interesting companies and their CEOs that fit our target investment profile and get them excited about the Turn/River brand
  • Qualify companies through conversations and various operational and financial metrics, then present these findings to our broader investment team
  • Partner with investment professionals to deploy capital and execute transactions
  • Actively build and carry out sourcing processes, technologies, and positioning by A/B testing various marketing, sales, and growth best practices

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree from a competitive program, with demonstrated strong academic performance
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Avid self-learner
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously with extreme attention to detail
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Passionate about investing, data, technology, and relationship development
  • Experience in B2B software, finance, and proficiency with sales tools a plus

Location
  • San Francisco, CA (hybrid work model)

Compensation
  • The annual base salary range for this role is $145,000-$155,000, taking into account numerous variable factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational requirements.

Benefits and Perks
The below benefits are offered to full-time employees based out of our San Francisco office:
  • An opportunity to make an impact across multiple high-growth tech firms
  • Competitive salary and discretionary bonus
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance covered 100% for employee & dependents
  • Flexible vacation policy
  • 401K matching
  • Paid parental leave
  • Commuter benefits
  • Health and Wellness benefits
  • Household Services benefits
  • Home Office benefits
  • Annual Home Office Equipment Reimbursement
  • Donation matching
  • Work from home Monday & Friday
  • Energetic work environment with snacks and weekly team lunches 3x per week, centrally located near multiple public transit lines
  • A company that enjoys having fun: holiday parties, annual company offsite and retreat, annual summer "work from anywhere" month
